Labradorite and blue topaz Sterling Pendant and handmade sterling Chain
Beautiful long oval Labradorite with a blue flash bezel set in sterling silver and fine silver. Labradorite doesn’t have a constant flash of blue. At some angles and in some light it appears more of a solid gray green. But when it flashes that blue. -look out.
Of course the blue topaz is always dazzling
On top is a triangular faceted blue topaz - prong set
Comes with my favorite sterling handmade chain that is 24 inches long. You can fasten the sterling hook on any link to wear it shorter depending on your outfit.
The pendant is removeable and you can wear the chain alone
All the silver has a slight patina to bring out the details and give the piece some character.
Pendant is about 3 inches long
The Labradorite stone is a gray feldspar with “flashes “ of color (this stone has blue flash). The flash doesn’t show all the time only from certain angles.
The colors in Labradorite are not actually present in stone, rather they are the result of light play within the stone. Labradorite is a feldspar with a crystalline structure that forms very thin compacted layers. When light hits the surface of the stone, it travels down through the layers, which reflect, refract and diffuse the white light, absorbing some colors and reflecting others which we see as the flash on the surface of the stone.
